Ice Rescue Training

Troy participated in the ice rescue training with the fire department last weekend. It was a perfect day for it as we stood there in the falling snow and cold temperatures. The fire department goes and cuts a hole or two into the lake. They save the piece they cut out to then replace afterwards so it can freeze back and be safe once again. Here are a few of the pictures that I took.
here they are having their briefing before the rescues
troy is all suited up and ready to rescue....
the victim and the rescuers....
troy heads out to the victim with the rescue pole; he is tied to
a team on the shore.....
he stays low and hands the pole to the victim....
he pulls the victim out of the water....
next rescue-- he tosses a rope to the victim; a perfect toss!....
he signals to the team on the shore....
now he's going to get into the water to assist....
he attaches the rescue rope to the victim....
he signals to the team on shore to pull....
here he imitates the michelin man.... or something like that...
kris and troy.....
after his turn in the water, he put his gear back on and
was part of the shore team, pulling in the victim....
makes for a fun sled ride.....
(out of order) walking back after being in the water....
was it cold? yes, the suit leaks!!.....
