"I Can See The World!"

We started out our day trying to go fishing, but halfway there we had to turn around due to heavy seas. Not to be discouraged, we decided to go hiking instead so we headed up Harbor Mountain. It was a clear afternoon at first, so we were able to see very far. When we got to the top, Megan looked around and then said excitedly, "I can see the world!!"
walking along the trail......
there were beautiful wildflowers everywhere......
you can see town from the top. here is a good idea of where we live....
there is the Coast Guard airstation.....
a cruise ship leaves sitka and heads out to open ocean......
the alaska state ferry, getting ready to leave......
our first search dog mac died of old age a few years ago. we always said we wanted him to be forever on top of harbor mountain, his favorite place. we were finally able to get up there and let him R.I.P.
the ceremonial toss. we didn't quite get mac in the picture as he flew through the air!!!
oh well......
andrew.... being a goof.....
and being a monkey.....
and megan had to get in on it.....
it was time for dinner. here is nelly checking to see what she got.....
wonder what she was thinking?.....

fathom.....
pirate......
i was hoping for a family photo with town in the background, but the
fog rolled in. guess this will have to do.........
daddy and nelly......
don't you just love the tongue?!.....
we saw sasquatch and asked him to take a picture of us......
heading down the trail back to the truck.....
a girl and her dog.....
down there somewhere in that soup is the truck.....
Our legs feel like rubber after the steep climb up and down, but it sure felt good to get out and do some vigorous excercise. Wonder where we will go next??
