It has been a crazy month! We were right in the middle of unpacking our new house, beginning home-school, and training the new puppy and then it was my birthday. We started out by opening my gifts - the kids couldn't wait! I got an ice cream maker and all the fixin's. Yumm yumm. Then after church we came home and got ready for the Alaska Day parade. As we were driving to the parade, I recieved a phone call from my mom telling me that my sister and her husband had been in a terrible car accident and she was in critical condition. So I packed my bags and spent the next three weeks in the waiting room at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. My sister survived and is expected to make a full recovery. So I am back home again and ready to start it all again. Below is a picture of the cake that Troy made for me - he was up until 3am decorating it and I didn't even get to eat it! Well, I sat down and tried to eat a little piece before I left for the airport. It was delicious!

The next event to write about it the survival suit drill that Nelly was involved in. Here in Alaska they do this training every year because of all the kids that go out fishing with their families. So first they get into the pool to practice and then they get to go into the cold water! They go down to the dock and put their survival suits on and then get into the water. Nelly was so excited to go and was only worried about the sealions eating her. But they let off seal bombs to scare them off so all were safe! Here Nelly is putting on her suit.........

And then today (sunday the 15th) I was able to get a couple pictures of Fathom out training. The snow made it real hard to focus on him, so these are the best I could get. He LOVES the snow!!! Here we are doing a "run-away" which is how you start them out and teach them the game of finding a lost person.

he is ready to go find.....

this was yesterday, before the snow!
