It was a fun weekend which started out with Troy and the kids going out fishing on Saturday. They were not too far from town so I was able to get fishing updates from them every now and then. I will say, it was pretty slow fishing for most of the afternoon. But they were having a fun time trying, as seen with Nelly, who was happy just to be using her NEW fishing pole......

andrew and megan were enjoying themselves as well.....

then megan got that TUG TUG and the battle was on! in the end
i got a very excited phone call from her with the report of
her catching a 30lb ling cod (helped from dad, of course!).....

i guess she needed to rest up after the big fish!....

when they called and said they were on their way in,
i went to the harbor to watch for them.......

here is the proud girl with her REALLY UGLY FISH!!!........

it is very interesting to watch dad clean them; won't be
long before they are cleaning their own fish......

Then on Sunday afternoon, we decided that despite the cloudy sky and chance of rain (which never came!) that we would head out to the beach and have dinner. So after packing up the cooler, we headed out to Sandy Cove. Pirate took a nap on the way out.....

megan and andrew enjoyed the rope swing that we found.....

and nelly could be found down at the water looking for crabs.....

and checking out holes in the ground.....

this is what a white dog looks like after 5 minutes!.....
wonder what he's thinking about......

the boat needed to be adjusted, so we sent andrew down to deal with it.....

after playing awhile, it was time to start dinner.......

making it ready to eat......

thanking God for our food.......

it tasted SOOO good!.....

then it was time for the s'mores. first we need the sticks.....

then we cook the marshmallow just right......

then we blow the fire out.....
and then we ENJOY!.......

then it was time to load up and head home.....
two very tuckered out dogs.......

We are excited for the beginning of beach fires, hot dogs, hamburgers and s'mores season. Between that and the fast arriving salmon season, we have a lot of boat time and beach time coming up. YEAH!!!!

What a great time you all had this weekend! You all look great. No pictures of Jenn?! Dad looks like his dad and Andrew sure looks like his dad - amazing how that happens, huh!!! That's a good thing! I hope we get to spend some time together soon. Sure do miss you ALL! Specially those kids that don't seem to stop growing!
Love you,
Grandma Cookie
