Labor Day seemed like a good day to go out on the boat, despite the previous evening's forecast telling us the day would be rainy with heavy seas. It was hard to believe when we looked outside and saw the calm skies. So we figured we would give it a shot and if we had to turn around, then at least we tried. Well, we woke up to clear skies and calm seas - let me see..... I believe we saw the temp get up to 81* at some point during the day!! So much for forecasts!! So we headed out to see if we could find some halibut and a deer or two. Since we didn't have time to climb high into the hills, we weren't to optomistic about a deer. We were right to feel that way as we didn't see a single one. But we were hoping our secret halibut hole would produce, which it did =^ )
And the bonus were the 2 and a half bears that we saw. The first two were on the beach. The half bear was the one we heard circle us as we ate our lunch. When we realized that it was indeed a bear we were hearing, we figured it was a good time to get back to the boat. We DID have 5 guns with us, but why try it?!
here are pictures of the two bears on the beach.......

we were in the boat and he stood his ground as we approached.....
