The weather lady on the marine radio has been promising us "higher than usual temperatures with some areas reaching 90*" So we have eagerly been waiting for it. Yesterday the fog burned off and we knew that today would be our hot day.
I asked Troy if he could get the night off so we could go to the beach all day. He asked and they laughed at him and said "no way!" Well, as the night progressed, he ended up standing duty and being up for a missing kayaker all night, so guess who was off today?! Yep! So after a few hour nap, during which I packed the food and stuff, we took off in the boat to find a near-by beach that wasn't already taken. We had about a 7 minute boat ride before we came upon a beach that we named "Can't Decide Beach" We named it that because we determined it to be the perfect beach so we off-loaded all our stuff and then realized that the tide line went almost all the way up to the tree line The tide was on it's way in so we were worried that when high tide hit, the beach would be gone. So we put the stuff back on the boat and went around the corner to another nice beach, but decided it was too windy. So we decided to go back to "Can't Decide Beach" since it was sheltered from the wind, very sunny, and the tide might not come in that far. It turned out to be just fine and we plan to return the next chance we get. As you can see below, we got our promised higher than usual temperature!
here we are coming up to the beach.....
the kids didn't waste anytime getting into the water.....

macho macho man.....
right about dinner time the sun went behind the trees so we decided to pack up our gear and go have a dinner cruise. we loaded everything up and headed across the water to where the sun was still shining. but it was too windy so we went over to the next bay, where we found a quiet, sunny, calm cove we decided to name "BBQ Cove." this is where we set the anchor down and then bbqed our hot dogs on the back of the boat. it was so much fun! I had made a potato salad and a broccoli/carrot salad this morning before we left so we ate like royalty.
